Baghdad is the capital of the Republic of Iraq. The area of

Baghdad is (2,260 km2 ) The population of Baghdad as of

2011 is approximately (7,216,040) person , making it the

largest city in Iraq and the second largest city in the Arab

World (after Cairo, Egypt).

Climate change

The second half of the last century, the rise in average

temperatures throughout the country was the overall rate

in Baghdad Recalling Information Authority

care system in the 1970s . There are many

government hospitals with low wages .

Education

The CIA World Fact book estimates that in 2000

the adult literacy rate was 84% for males and

64% for females, with UN figures suggesting a

small fall in literacy of Iraqis aged 15–24

between 2000 and 2008, from 84.8% to 82.4%.

BIODIVERSITY

In Baghdad there are many problems which influence

on the biodiversity like poor rains , global warming. And

low water level of the Tigris River led to the decline in

the number of fish and plants

FOOD

In Iraq and especially in Baghdad we have many traditional

meals . Each part of Iraq are known special meals ,for

instance :

Irbel ( north of Iraq ) is known with very delicious yogurt

called ( Laban Irbel).

Baghdad has many different meals like ( Dolma . Briani ).

Transportation in Baghdad

In general there are four kinds of public transportation in my

hometown :

1- train

2- taxi

3- van

4- busIn addition to, the government began implementing a project

to build Metro in Baghdad is the first of its kind in Iraq.

Iraq's economy is dominated by the oilsector, which has traditionally providedabout 95% of foreign exchange earnings .Iraq Export: Oil ( 83.9 % ) , non-oil rawmaterials ( 8%), animal products andfoodstuffs (5%) so Iraq holds the sixtiethplace in terms of the rate of nationalincome.
