The contest spans a year, beginning with local, regional and online contests whose winners go on to attend the global

Mobile and Windows platform.

Once you win your regional semi-finals you will advance to the Microsoft Imagine Cup Worldwide
Finals in Cairo, Egypt to be held in July 2009.

This Competition started at 12:01 AM Greenwich Mean Time (“GMT”) on July 8, 2008 and ends at
11:59 PM GMT on May 20, 2009 (“Entry Period”).

The Entry Period consists of the two (2) Rounds

Round 1 began on July 8, 2008, at 12:01 a.m. GMT and ends on May 20, 2009, at 11:59 PM GMT, and
is comprised of a series of separate country / region-specific Competitions (each, a "Local
Competition"). Each Local Competition may have unique eligibility requirements, entry deadlines,
entry criteria, and prizing.

Worldwide Finals The top Teams from each Round 1 Local Competition will advance to
compete against one another in the Worldwide Finals to determine the top three (3) Teams
overall. The Worldwide Finals will take place in July 2009 in Cairo, Egypt, and will consist of three
(3) Phases of competition.

The object of the Embedded Development Competition is to unleash

They work in both hardware and software to build an embedded solution using Windows
Embedded CE 6.0 R2 and the provided embedded platform.

The object of the Robotics and Algorithm Competition is to test the competitors
on their knowledge and skills for interpreting, designing a solution, and coding the best
algorithms that will address the challenges of each Round of the Invitational.
Robotics will be the virtual environment for the competitors until the moment they reach the
Worldwide Finals when they will have to code the real ones.
