1. By utilizing the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Adapter Service, you can synchronize changes made in Dynamics CRM with other Microsoft Dynamics line-of-business appplications, such as Dynamics GP.

1. Click the Start link. We'll begin by starting the adapter service.
2. In the task bar, select the Microsoft Dynamics CRM application.

3. Click on the Aaron Fitz Elec vCRM1 record.
This is a customer record that was synched from Dynamics GP - notice the name ends with vCRM1. Let's change this record name and see what happens.
4. Switch to the Administration tab.

5. Switch to the General tab. This administration screen shows how we link Dynamics CRM to Dynamics GP. Notice the "Submitted to ERP" and "ERP Key" items, which link CRM to GP.
6. Click in the Account Name field. Let's change the name to "vCRM2" to allow us to track the changes in Dynamics GP.

7. Click Save and Close. Saving this record triggers a change in Dynamics GP.
8. Click on the Microsoft Dynamics Adapter icon on the Quick Launch bar.
Let's launch the adapter console to look at how it maps from Dynamics CRM to Dynamics GP.

9. Click on Maps. We synch data between Dynamics CRM and Dynamics GP using Maps. Here we see only the active maps.
10. Select the Customer to Account map.

11. Click on the Dynamics GP icon on the Quick Launch bar.
Here, we can see the schedule and mapping between the Dynamics GP Customer Record and the Dynamics CRM Account Record.
12. Click in the Password field. Let's log into Dynamics GP.

13. Click on the My Customers reminder link.
Let's watch the record get updated by the adapter.
14. Click on the Refresh button. Here we will watch the adapter update the Dynamics GP Customer Record in the Smartlist. Notice the first customer record still has vCRM1 at the end of the record name.

15. Click the X icon of the Smartlist Window to exit
After refreshing the Smartlist, we can see that the name has been updated.
16. Click on the Customer Maintenance link.
Let's go into the Dynamics GP Customer Maintenance window to make a change to the customer name.

17. Click on the Name field. In this window, we'll make a change to the customer name of the Aaron Fitz record.
18. Click the Save button. Let's save the Dynamics GP Customer record and trigger the update to Dynamics CRM.

19. Close the Customer Maintenance window.
20. Select the Microsoft Dynamics CRM application in the taskbar.
Now, we can go back to Dynamics CRM and watch the update happen.

21. Click the Refresh Button on the Accounts grid.
Returning to Dynamics CRM, we'll refresh this Accounts list.
22. End of demo. Once again, observe that the record name has been updated. The Microsoft Dynamics CRM Adapter is designed to be easy to install and maintain. It makes it easy to keep all the critical information in your organization updated between different line-of-business applications.
