• Multi-radio mesh development begun 2002– Core Patents on Multi-radio mesh filed Oct 2002, issued 2008– Two radio backhaul prototype implemented Nov 2003– Scalable Distributed Radio Management demoed Aug 2004
• Meshdynamics incorporated 2005– IP from earlier developments incorporated– IP portfolio extended to 9 patent applications + 1 awarded. – First products shipped 2005, production release 11/05– Profitable in FY 2008. No long term debt.
• 100+ networks, 1500+ nodes installed worldwide– References available from USAF, US Army, SPAWAR San Diego,
BAESystems, DCS Corporation, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, military defense contractors in Israel, UK, Canada, Shotspotter, Joy Mining, Rio Tinto Mining, Seismic exploration companies, Professional Golf Association (PGA), IBM.
Company Background

• Extremely high performance, many hops, low latency per hop– High bandwidth, minimal delay for video, data– Proven superior in extensive testing by SPAWAR, USAF– Proven external communication from inside mine 12 hops long
• Distributed dynamic radio intelligence– Cooperative “Radio robots” inside node automate mesh set-up– Network reuses channels for maximum performance– Automated interference avoidance works at segmented levels
• Exceptional mobility capabilities– Scanning subsystem continuously monitoring RF environment– Dynamic network forms and reforms rapidly.
• Radio Agnostic Architecture– Hardware Abstracted Layer treats radio as a port. – Device Abstracted Layer supports 2.4G, 4.9G, 5.8G radio– Permitted channel lists is dynamic, remotely configurable.
• Platform Agnostic Software– Runs on Multiple versions of Linux – Being ported to Windows (Laptops) and Windows Mobile (Smart phones)
Core Competitive Advantages

• Events/tactical networks– Fast set-up, interference avoidance, high performance for video– 100+ Nodes with Professional Golfers Assoc.[IBM/PGA]
• Mining, Seismic Exploration– High performance over many hops, compact size– 100+ Nodes in Wireless Sensor Grids for Seismic exploration
• Rail and transportation corridors– Mobility, consistent high performance over many hops– 60+ Nodes evaluation in progress in Korea
• Military and mobility– High performance, automated network formation at speed– 25+ nodes Truck Convoy tested in Iraq, Army bases.
• Border and perimeter security– High performance for video over many hops, fast set-up– 25+ nodes deployed along Arizona-Mexico border for DHS

• Emulates Layer Two Switch Stack Architecture. (Scalable)• Dynamic Channel Management manages “insulation”.• Multiple Channels enables Local Interference Management
The Wireless Switch Stack Paradigm
Entire Mesh is affected by Local Interference Source
Single Radio = Single Channel
Only one segment is affected by Local Interference Source
Only one link has to change Channels

Scalable Publish/Subscribe model
UDP heart beat packets published periodically on network.
One type of “Subscriber” updates Database. In publish/subscribemodel there is limit on number of subscribers or publishers.
Other publishers could be customer application data. Example: Sensor updates from serial line interface: battery power or GPS location also time stamped and stored in database
Same scalable model applies to all.
