How effective is the combination of yourmain product and ancillary textsThroughout the project there were a series of stages;research and planning, producing/ construction andthe evaluation stage and in all of these stages weused a variety of new media technologies to help toconstruct. Some of these technologies include theDV or JCB cameras and Apple Macs.Although some of the technologies weused throughout the process werethose that we were familiar with, therewere several which were new to us andwe had to develop over the duration ofthe task. 3. RESEARCH & PLANING 4. Research & PlanningDuring the research process we used a variety of laptops andnet books to watch advertisements of a similar genre andgather information about other chocolate companies andother similar media texts. Both home and in school we usedthe internet (sites such as YouTube) to gather the research weneeded to continue with our project.Before we could begin to plan our work we had to find outwhat our targeted customers would like, we did this bycarrying out textual research, we constructed a set ofquestions to find out what they would be looking for so wewere prepared we then used Facebook to send them topeople fitting the description of our target audience. 5. Research & PlanningFor the planning processwe used similartechnologies howeverthis stage required more.After doing severalbrainstorms we came upwith our concept andconstructed a storyboardfor each ad. After we hadconstructed them wephotographed eachimage using DV camerasand uploaded them ontothe Mac computers tocreate a photostoryboard. 6. Research & PlanningLooking back I think the images would havebeen better had we have used a digitalcamera rather than the camcorders to takethe pictures. This would have allowed us tocapture the image in better quality. Oncewe had created the photo storyboard wehad to upload them onto our online blogson the website Blogger. We did this using aprogramme called slideshare. 7. Research & PlanningAfter we uploaded these photo storyboards and had a betteridea of the direction we wanted to go in, we then decided tocreate a more accurate storyboard. We used the JVC camerasto take still images corresponding with the scripts we hadwritten and created another storyboard. 8. Research & PlanningWe also created a pitch for our planning process, thiswas were we put down any ideas about our brandand each individual advertisement. This gave us theopportunity to get feedback form our peers anddecide whether we were going in the right directionwith our ideas. For this we used net books and createdMicrosoft PowerPoint document. This was a goodprogramme to use as it allowed us to convey our ideasusing text, imagery and music so everyone could getan idea of what we wanted to achieve.We then uploaded this onto ourblogs as further content.
