This module outlines important developments within video and television production and distribution within network cultures and new media arts, specifically how programme content is being adapted and explored on mobile platforms. It will introduce you to the key theoretical debates with reference to influential work in the field, and examine these through the production of video/television content designed for delivery on new platforms.

Mobisodes are episodic content produced to be viewed on mobile devices usually phones.
They mark a shift in the production and distribution of Television and Film; they work as both advertising andpromotion.

Etymology Blend of mobile and episode.

An episode of a television drama series condensed and broadcast to cellular phones.
An episode of content (fiction or non-fiction) that has been created to be viewed with a cellular phone, or over the internet. Usually between 30 seconds and five minutes in length.

8. Production, Promotion and Distribution
We will be looking at the production of digital videos for and with mobile phones.
We will look at specific examples of work produced with mobile phones and investigate how this is done and what effect these mobile devices have on your media output.
The module will focus on mobile phones as both cameras and screens
9. Production, Promotion and Distribution
This module will look at a variety of promotion techniques focusing on web 2.0 platforms and how they can be used to disseminate information
We will look at how mobile videos are used both as promotional tools and how they fit into the patchwork of media productions and practices which produce convergence culture
10. Production, Promotion and Distribution
We will look at a variety of techniques that you can employ to get your episodic content from finished production to viewing public
This module will look at new forms of distribution in digital culture, how they are used and what effect they have on the products that we produce and consume.
11. What do we need to consider/what are the challenges?
You need to produce a narrative which works across 4 separate episodes, this narrative needs to be delivered via and will be marked on 4 separate occasions. You have a staggered deadline across the module and video content needs to be delivered on these dates.

For this module all students are expected to have both aand account as part of this module. Other web 2.0 services can and will be used such as but students are required to use these services professionally and represent themselves in a professional manner in these spaces.

A group has been created where students can comment on the presentations and review the lecture series.
25. MED316 Pre-Production
We will be looking at a number of different approaches to preproduction and project scheduling during this module.
We will be focusing on a new free software which promotes itself as the world's first all-in-one media pre-production system. It replaces 'paper & binder' pre-production with a digital approach that's more complete, simpler to work with, and easier to share.
