IntroductionHi, we are Isabel and Valentina students of

the Bennett School.This is a proyect you like because we are going to explain how we are waisting water which is our most important resource.We need to make people aware of this because it´s not a renewable resource, we are using so much water and we will help you to learn about how we can save water.

How do People use Water Resources?

People use water resources, but

they waste them a lot.

Water is very important to satisfy our

needs.

People use water

resources for different activities.

People only think the money they have to pay for water ,and the tehy pay the consecuences for

wasting it

Differences and Similarities

Capacity

It refers to the amount of a liquid or other pourable substance a container can (or does) hold

It can be measure as galons.

Means the amount of liquid that can be heald in a container.

Volume It refers to the space taken

up by an object itself.

It can be measure as quarts or liters.

Means how heavy something is.

Words to describe volume are ounces and pounces.

The purpose is to help students understand visually the size of a cubic meter .Students will observe the height, the depth, and the width of a cubic meter.

Estimate the number of cubic decimeter in a cubic meter before setting out the cubic meter.

How Much Water we Waste?

Every time we are washing our teeths or taking a shower for a long period of time we are wasting water.But exactly:a)What is the measure of the water that flow?

b)How much time do you spend taking a shower?

c)How many times a day do you do that?

d)How many times in a week you take a shower?

Answersa)Twenty-four liters of water is the measure of

water that flow, this is awesome we are wasting a lot of water every day.In my opinion we have to conserve water by taking short showers and not letting the faucet running.

b) I spend 45 minutes taking a shower,other people don’t even take showers.But it is necessary to have a good health and cleanliness.

c)I take a shower two times at a day.One in the morning and other in the night.

d)I take a shower 14 times in one week.

Activities that Wate a Lot of Water

There are activities that consume a lot of water so we are going to measure some of those with this questions:

a) How many times do tou flush the toilet in 24 hours?

b)How long does it take to brush your teeth? How much water do

you spend?

c)How many times a day do you brush your teeth?

d)How long does it take to wash your hands?How much water do you spend?

Answersa) I flush a toilet 3 times in 24 hours. b) It

takes me 5 minutes to brush my teeth, and I spend 2 cups of water.

c) I brush my teeth 3 times a day, in the morning, after lunch, and at night.

d) It takes to me 2 minutes to wash my hands, and I spend 4 cups of water washing my hands.
