So far we have looked at equations of lines and determined information about the line in order to graph it.
Today we are going to do the reverse.
A line has slope 7 and a y-intercept of -4, what is the equation of the line?
A line has slope -4/5 and goes through point (1,3) what is the equation of the line?
A line has slope 2/3 and goes through point (8,1) what is the equation of the line?
y = 2/3x + b
1 = 2/3(8) + b
1 - 16/3 = b
3/3 - 16/3 = b
-13/3 = b
A line has slope 1/9 and goes through point (-2,5) what is the equation of the line?
y = 1/9x + b
5 = 1/9(-2) + b
5 = -2/9 + b
5 + 2/9 = b
47/9 = b
A line has slope 4 and goes through point (2,1) what is the equation of the line?
What is the equation of this line?
b = 2m = -1
y = -1x + 2
