The customer, Wenco, was looking for a rugged on-board computer (data

logger) for Hitachi shovels; in-vehicle maintenance.

Wenco is owned by Hitachi Construction Machinery, entered discussions

when previously selected solution failed . Eurotech delivered solution in a

Application:

The customer, a company that rents farming equipment like harvesters /

combines, was looking for a rugged on-board computer (data logger) for

aggregating and communicating data coming from sensors and intelligent

devices.

The customer also uses the DuraCOR as a internetworking device for an

on board video solution using IP cameras

Application:

The customer, a mid size company growing and selling vegetables

required a monitoring solution for their green houses (temperature, light,

humidity) and for their delivery trucks (temperature, cool chain monitoring).

The monitoring of both the green houses as well as the trucks is mainly to

protect the investments in terms of “goods”. The truck solution was

especially appealing because of the ability to react when a cooling system

fails before the load is lost.

Vertical Market Example Use Case Use Case: Data Capture for MoD in Afghanistan

Application:

Part of the data capture system installed in army vehicles of the British

Forces in Afghanistan. The armored personnel carriers use an array of

electronic equipment to provide information on the status of the vehicle

and identify potential threats around it. The data capture system which

uses the ISIS detects Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), as used by

the Taliban

Key Success Factors:

They needed deliver in 6 weeks – the ISIS being a

COTS product meant we could meet it

ISIS was put through rigorous testing to ensure it would

work in those conditions and not affect the other

equipment and it passed.

The customer, a leading value-transport company in Italy wanted to

significantly improve the service level provided to a large banking group,

making cash transport and counting more efficient and increasing security

standards. The solution consists of providing the crews of the armored

trucks of the cash transport companies involved in the contract, with a

HRC4200 device. This device enables barcode reading, GPS positioning

and the collection of other information with regards to the transaction.

There is also the possibility provided that the bank contact person can

digitally sign directly on the Eurotech device to confirm the transaction.
