Helping Young Adults Find CareersLVI was established in 2006, as a non-
profit organization dedicated to
providing environmental job
training to young adults between
the ages of 17-29. This program
was founded by Patrick Barnes, a
professional geologist who had a
vision to involve inner city youth
of New Orleans in the greatest
career opportunity, restoring and
sustaining the environment.
PLANTERS GROVE PARK
-This park was created by LVI in partnership with the Planters Corporation as a way to beautify the neighborhood. It is located in
the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana.- We learn marketable job skills by maintaining the park for the
community.
Environmental Technician
Skills Learned Through:
-Water quality sampling
- Removal of invasive species - fauna/flora
-Mapping were we find these plants or animals
-Cleaning up trash around this parks
