REPORT: Stolen during a residential burglary, this laptop found its way to a pawnshop where it was subsequently purchased by a third party. The use of Absolute Forensic Tools allowed the Investigations and Recovery Team to gather data on the device’s location and suspected user, which was then relayed to local law enforcement. The assigned detective used the information to recover the laptop the same day. Further investigation by police led to the arrest of the suspected thief with three separate charges filed.
