REPORT: This laptop was stolen during a violent carjacking in Nairobi, Kenya and didn’t connect to the Internet for almost one year. Once connection was established, the Investigations and Recovery Team put their Absolute forensic tools to work and collected information on the location of the suspected user. A report was transferred to local law enforcement agents but no real action was taken at that time. After repeated attempts to engage local authorities without success, investigators decided to take matters into their own hands. The suspected user was deemed to be of a professional nature and was contacted by Absolute investigators. After a short period the user agreed to return the device and it was then confiscated by an agent for Absolute Software.

After a lengthy period of dormancy, this stolen laptop was reconnected with its owner.
