DESCRIPTION
The café in the University of Michigan Law School's new academic building was named the Kirkland & Ellis Café thanks to a combined gift of $4 million made by 27 Michigan Law alumni at the Firm and the Kirkland & Ellis Foundation. Partner Sandy Perl gave remarks at the café's dedication dinner on November 18, 2011. A ribbon-cutting ceremony, with remarks from retired partner Bill Jentes, was held on November 19, 2011, prior to the school's football game.
