• Provide a website– For about 200 schools– Starting with elementary schools– Ending with high schools
– Having teachers as maintainers– Having only 6 trained, skilled
administrators for all schools– Having high requirements on

• The special package include pre-installed extensions
• The deployment works automatically based on a shared host
• The teachers are being trained by their colleagues
• All schools can have their individual design based on a standard template
• The schools can maintain the content with teachers, students and parents

Project status
• What was done?– Project started in 2008– Initial training and package
definition was done– The deployment for all
websites been done– Most of the schools
adapted their sites already– Several maintenance
releases had been deployed
• What is next?– In 2009 the migration to
Joomla! 1.5 is scheduled– There are more schools
that are planed for deployment
