People and countries colonize other people and countries for bad reasons: to capture slaves, steal land and other natural resources, and to become rich.

For example, the Spanish colonized much of the Americas for these reasons.

Today, the people of Latin America are primarily Meztizos (European and Native American blood).

Another example is the English colonization of what is now the US.

The English only stole land and brought women.

There was no desire to take Indians as slaves because Africans were brought as slaves.

The colonized always come to speak the language and convert to the religion of the colonizer

Globalization grew from colonization.

As the world globalizes, it becomes more American and European.

Soon, traditional cultures will be gone forever from the earth

Colonialism-When a group of people colonize other people or a land.

Vocabulary

Colonize-To go to a far place and live there and or conquer the people living there.
