Why  run  a  workshop?    

•  April  2013  presenta2on  at  e-­‐IAUCF  on  provision  of  e-­‐Infrastructure  training  

•  Everyone  wants  to  work  together  •  Sharing  best  prac2ce,  discovering  new  resources,  easier  access  to  market,  preven2ng  duplica2on  

•  Training  community  is  fragmented  •  Hold  a  workshop  to  bring  trainers  together  and  test  the  viability  of  a  training  community

•  A  collabora2on  between  trainers  §  DCC,  DiRAC,  HPC  Short  Courses,  NAG,  STFC,  So#ware  Sustainability  Ins2tute.  

•  Five  recommenda2ons  for  change  1.  Improving  communica2on  between  trainers  2.  Understanding  the  cost  of  training  3.  Relying  on  trainers  rather  than  volunteers  4.  Working  together  to  publicise  training  5.  Providing  incen2ves  to  produce  and  share  training  materials  

•  Circulate  report  in  September
