• The Manual Feed function allows output from another printer to be finished on the inline Plockmatic SD-500/350 – even if the printer is running other jobs to the stacker

• The system is engineered to support an average volume of up to 30,000 booklets/manuals per month.

SD-350 to SD-500 upgrade concept

• Offer your customers the versatility of the option to easily upgrade the Plockmatic SD-350 any time on site

• Upgrade is enabled in the field by purchasing and installing a 50 sheet hardware key

Value Proposition: Produces professional, perfect-bound-like appearance for those booklet/manual applications that are greater than 20 pages (5 sheets) in length. Also enables printing on the spine of the book.

Optional BookFold Module - Overview

• Converts a conventional saddle stitched booklet into a flat square spine booklet with a look similar to that of a perfect bound book.

• Greatly improves booklet stacking and packing capability.

• 100 (50 sheet folded) sheet face trimmer with variable trim length – up to 1 inch

• Trims off the excess “creep” caused by folding multiple sheets to eliminate ‘shingling’ on the face of the finished book.

• Fold down output tray enables “unload while run” for limitless output capacity.

Simplifies work process by eliminating the need to separately trim the books in a guillotine.

Optional Face Trimmer Module - Overview

*The Trimmer can support “multi cut” operation in manual mode. This allows customers to create a 105mm / 4.14” long booklet cut down from a larger sheet size. Multi cut operation with trim lengths above 25mm or 1” is subject to productivity limitations and limitations in supported media

• Air Assist cover feeding system – feeds up to 93 lb. cover/250 gsm stock

• Handles both coated and non-coated pre-printed stock• Holds up to 200 sheets at a time depending on thickness• Pre-printed covers may allow some printers to operate

more productively• Ideal for blending pre-printed (offset or digital)

covers with body pages from the printer• The cover feeder can also be used as an off-line feeder for

pre-collated sheets adding flexibility to the workflow.

NOTE: The sheets in the Cover Feeder module will not pass through the Rotate/Crease/Trim module if the RCT module is installed. If top and bottom trimming is required, these sheets will need to be pre trimmed offline.

Optional Rotate Crease Trim Module - Overview

• The Rotate Crease Trim module enables professional looking, full bleed trimmed and creased booklets on the Plockmatic SD-500/SD-350 system.

• The Rotate function allows sheets to be printed in the most productive orientation. Letter size sheets are run portrait and rotated to landscape for saddle stitching in the RCT.

• The Crease function enhances book appearance by reducing or eliminating “cracking” of toner on the spine. It also provides a flatter fold on thicker stock.

• The Bleed Trimmer trims the sides (head and foot) sheet by sheet. Full engine speed is maintained to allow for high productivity.

• Supports faster turnaround for booklets by eliminating multiple offline process steps

Standard Features of the Rotate Crease Trim Module

• Large external waste bin enables long unattended runs. Emptying of waste bin during run possible for maximum productivity.

• Two crease rollers are standard for optimal crease performance on all media. Easy set up through the UI in the Booklet Maker.

• The Trim Waste Conveyer is ideal for more production oriented sites with production of full bleed booklets.

• The waste conveyor allows long unattended runs when using the Plockmatic RCT.

• The unit takes its mechanical drive from the RCT itself and thus does not require an extra power outlet.
