The use of Draw2Calc technology enables simple building generation coupled with fast and accurate heating/cooling load calculations.

Drawing walls, windows and doors is enough for the program to generate rooms. By placing apartment identifiers the program can insert those rooms into the appropriate apartments. You can even add an orientation marker for a clearer overview of the transmission results. The transmission and ventilation losses are calculated automatically and all data is ready for your review. The Draw2Calc technology is currently available only for the European EN 12831 heat loss calculation.

Preparing the room generation: Exterior walls are green, interior walls and windows light blue and doors brown. On the right you can see the orientation marker, pointing to Northeast. Additional room data like inner room temperature, floor and ceiling settings etc. can be input manually.

From heat loss to equipment selection, all common heating calculation are available. Use the heat load data for sizing radiators, then drag&drop the real-size 3D blocks on you dwg drawing to connect with pipes and generate the pipeline. Smart features like automatic valve balancing and pipe sizing by max. pressure can save you a lot of time. After completeing all calculations the program will prepare a large array or reports including a building summary, valve balancing chart and material lists. All reports can be exported to .xls format with just one click.

Radiant floor calculation: Heating and cooling are calculated at the same time using fixed or free mass flows. Powerful CAD functions allow full drawing and calculation for different loop shapes (spiral, parallel and double parallel). Connect loops to the manifold using standard pipe drawing tools.

Draw2Calc technology can be used to generate geometric data quickly. This data can then be copied to the cooling load to speed-up the calculation process. Fan-coils can be sized for any flow/return temperature, room humidity, inner room temperature and ventilator speed. The fan-coil pipeline is designed in the same way as the radiator pipeline and supports two-pipe and four-pipe systems. You can also mix radiators and fan-coils in the same pipeline. The print reports include peak cooling loads, detailed 24-hour cooling load, highest pressure drop branches, and material lists.

Cooling load calculation: Calculate interior and exterior cooling loads with our easy to use interface. You can input persons, machines, lights, material throughput, interior and exterior transmission. Peak values can be analyzed with charts and detailed printouts.

It’s quick and easy to calculate ventilation ducts using our ad-vanced tools. You can size ducts by maximum speed or pressure drop and maximum height or width. Grilles are generated as soon as you input an air flow on a section. Fittings and other elements can be added from the program database or through direct data input. The program calculates the branch with the highest pres-sure drop and sizes the ducts accordingly. You can also use the CAD interface to drag&drop grilles and set their properties. The program will recognize fittings automatically with all data trans-ferred to the calculation table for your review.

Using the advanced fitting selection: You can add standard fittings on any duct section. The program will recognize the available fitting types and preload a selection (i.e. you can choose Tees only when three branches are connected). You can select the actual type and adjust the minor loss calculation variables.

Both calculations share the standard set of pipeline drawing tools and techniques as the radiator and fan-coil pipelines. The significant difference is that sink points do not have to be sized before use. You can drag&drop them directly from the program product catalogue. The same sink point blocks can be used both for potable water and drainage. Both calculations also feature exclusive blocks. CAD-made calculations can be adjusted in a standard calculation table. The print reports include an installation overview, material lists and drainage pipe ordering optimisation list.

Using CAD tools for accurate drawing: The picture shows a standard situation where the sink points were already drawn by the architect. To design potable water pipelines you can use the special “connection block” instead of a regular “full body” block. The calculation results for both types are the same.

Shared version features: The general program framework i.e. the project structure, CAD and report modules have the same functionality in all program versions. Product databases vary in different language versions. You can choose from a total of 12 language versions.

The program is licensed with a USB dongle. This allows for flexible licensing as the software use is not restricted to one computer. The software license is obtained for a limited time period. You can purchase a 30, 90 or 365 days software license. The purchased time period is coded into every USB dongle before it leaves our office. Upon expiration the program will stop working. To continue using it you will need to renew the license. Renewals are carried out using the Internet.
