Data sharing and geojournalism
Objectives
● Create a tool that allows journalists, researchers and NGOs to upload and download data/stories about the Amazon
● Generate narratives/visualizations with data
● Stimulate data/stories sharing among Amazonian organizations
● Create greater awareness about problems in the region
Why?
● Many years of research in the region, but data not shared
● Journalistic narratives can provide vital information
● Internet maps and data tools allow compelling visualization
