Climate change – Health - Poverty

Climate change – erratic rains, increased frequency and intensity of floods, decreased Agri Prodn, high Morbidity and Mortality

India is spending three times in fighting climate related challenges as it does on health.

Climate change affecting key sectors?

Changes in climate are affecting the health and economy - increased deaths, disease -heat waves, floods, storms, fires and droughts.

Increased malnutrition, diarrhoeal disease, respiratory infection, viral infection, encephalitis and malaria etc.

Increased vulnerability to public health, food security, livelihoods and other development goals - longer-term damage to systems due to disasters.
