This the image on the left is an example of an raw image that I will use for my double page spread. The right side is after I manipulated the image and inserted into double page using guide lines. You can see that there is a major difference between these two images where the after-manipulated image creates a much better quality.

Before I started editing, I want to use guidelines so I can appropriately crop the spaces that I don’t need and follow the designed principles.I thought at first the quality of my image is very good but the background is very dull and grey. So I decided to use the brightness and contrast technique:

Now that I have sorted the brightness of my picture to make it a lighter grey background, I used the hue/saturation technique to make the image more vibrant and make her skin more tanned and glower:

The reason why I cropped this image into a mid shot was for the audiences to only focus on the models face which makes her look provocative but at the same time who symbolises innocence and purity from what she is wearing.

When I analysed different band images, I was inspired from these two types of images. From the image of Rihanna, we can see how provocative she looks from her lips that attracts many audiences. As well as the second image, we find Taylor Swift’s skin to be glowing as well as her lips. The way that my model and the real singer poses are quite similar by tilting their body sideways but their heads are faced in front of the camera which follows the design principles. From both of these real singers, they both fit in my genre of Rnb and Pop.
