During this time she has worked –and continues to work- with foreign-owned companies and helps them establish offices in the state. Because the European renewable energy market has evolved more rapidly that it has in the United States - while at the same time- the renewable energy debate in the US has become more prominent, Ilona has had the opportunity to meet with many foreign companies interested in entering the Florida market. Consequently, she has gained an understanding of the different regulatory and business environments in Europe and the US. She has also been able to work closely with Florida regulators, utilities and businesses to identify what the opportunities are for foreign companies interested in entering the renewable energy sector of Florida.
