The ifm multicode reader detectsnumerous 2D and 1D codes.The standardised 2D code can beapplied in different ways: printed onpaper, engraved by laser or dot-peened onto a metal surface.

One of many examples: Based on theData Matrix code, the multicodereader identifies hygienically packedcotton swabs on a conveyor beltdynamically.

The RFID evalua-tion units DTE10xhave four antennaconnections,which can alter-natively be used asdigital I/Os.The antennas areconnected viastandardisedM12 connectors.

The standard pinassignment of theI/O connectionsensures thatcommon sensorsor actuators aredirectly connectedand powered fromthe RFID evalua-tion unit.

In addition to LFtransponders withup to 2-Kbit mem-ory, the productportfolio of ifmalso covers HFtransponders with8 Kbits as FRAMversion which canbe rewritten anunlimited numberof times.

These antennasare designed toopeate in the nearfield. In order toachieve a highselectivity, thesmallest possibledesigns are usedenabling shortreading ranges.

Mid rangeantennas.

Due to its smallerdimensions themid range an-tenna is chosen forapplications in thenear / far fieldwith reading ran-ges of up to 2 m.

Wide rangeantennas.

With an angle ofaperture of 30°these antennashave been deve-loped for appli-cations in the farfield wherereading ranges ofup to 10 m arerequired.

Up to 20 cm:(Ultra) low range antenna for theselective detection of individualproducts in the close range.

DTE800 in theapplication.
