We all know the ads for the iPods…
Click on the link and scroll down to the bottom of the Apple webpage to see the newest ad:
“iPod + iTunes See the Newest Ad” http://www.apple.com/itunes/
On the Internet, these figures dance…
What makes these images so memorable?
These ads are a long running campaign – since 2004…
They can be found all over the world…
And digital artists are making them for fun…
Now, we are starting to see knockoffs that make fun of
them…
And there are websites devoted to using the ads as a parody –
PARODY:- a composition that imitates somebody's style in a humorous way - make a spoof of or make fun of
How does the meaning change when the words are changed, even though the picture stays the same?
Look at the these two pictures…
The person is the same, but the words aren’t…
Students…
… have used the idea to tell something about themselves.
The key to the success of the image is…
•Body language communicates the action in these ads, and no words are needed
•But the words add to the idea
You will be making an “ad”:
• Your “ad” can communicate something you do using body language
• It can be a sport or hobby
• It can also be a parody – communicate an idea
• It can be Anything that can be communicated through body language
•Props may help – hats, bags, etc.
What do you do?
•Think about what activities are important to you
•Think about how they can be communicated
•Think about body language
