How To Setup E-mail in Microsoft Outlook Express With The Use Of POP3

 

Windows operating system added outlook Express from Window 95 and Window XP. Starting from Window Vista, Outlook Express was substituted with Windows Mail. Starting with Window 7, Window Mail was substituted with Windows live Mail. In the case if your system is not running properly, then you may refer to the list of email programs that may be friendly with your OS.

Steps to configure Microsoft Outlook Express using POP3 protocol  

1.    Click on Start menu and click on Outlook Express. Now in Outlook Express select Tools then Accounts

2.    Now select Add button and then choose Mail3.    Write your name in Display Name which is to appear when other will receive your

account mail. Now click the Next button4.    Now write your E-mail address of 1&1 in the textbox and then click Next option5.    Now choose POP3 from the menu drop down (A) and enter pop.1 and 1.com in the

Incoming mail as POP3, IMAP or HTTP server as (B) and then write smtp.1and1.com in the Outgoing mail server of SMTP as (C). Now click the Next button 

6.    Write your full name in the Account Name as the full e-mail address and write the e-mail account password of your account. In the case if you don’t want to enter the password of your e-mail account, then you can send or check your mail and be sure to choose Remember password box. Now click the Next 

7.    Now select Finish option to leave your wizard8.    Make sure that you have selected the account of pop.1and1.com that you have set

up and then select the Properties button9.    Now go to the top of the new Window and then click the tab of the Server10. Now go to the My server requires authentication and check the box and then

select the button Settings11. Make sure that you have selected Use same settings as my incoming mail

server and then choose OK button12. Now select tab Advanced at the top13. Go to the Outgoing mail (SMTP) and write 587 and then go to This server requires

a secure connection and check the box (A). Now go to the Incoming mail (POP3) and then again go to This server requires a secure connection (B) and check it. Now save and click OK .

14. Now go to the top of the Outlook Express Window to check your mail and then click Send/Receive option
