1. Double click on the Microsoft Word icon located on your desktop

2. Click on the Page Layout tab at the top of the page

3. Click on “Margins” to set up the page format.

4. Click on “Custom Margins” as the margins in their list are not the right format.

5.Set margins as follows:

Top - 1”Left - 1.50”Right - .50”Bottom – 1”

Then click the “OK” button at the bottom of the box.

6.Click on the reveal codes icon at the top of the page. It looks like a backwards “P”. This will show you all the moves that you make with your keyboard.

7.Click on the Tab button on your keyboard. It’s next to the Q. Now you can see that you have a default tab of 0.50” for the1st paragraph. Every time you start a new paragraph, you will need to indent.

8.Now type your paper.

9.At the end of your paper, click on the “Insert” tab at the top of the page and select “Page Break.”

10.Now type the titleof your paper at the appropriate spot according to your teacher’s instructions. Highlight the title and then select the center icon located above the word “paragraph” on the tool bar.

11.Click on the “Review” tab on the toolbar. Then click on the “Spelling & Grammar” icon and spell check your work.

12.Click on the Windows icon in the upper left hand corner of the page and then click on “Print” to print your paper. Don’t forget to save it one more time, then close the document and review the printout for errors.
