What is Histograms?
A histogram is a graphical representation of the distribution of data. It is an estimate of the probability distribution of a continuous variables and was first introduced by Karl Pearson.
To construct a histogram, the first step is to “bin" the range of values that is, divide the entire range of values into a series of small intervals and then count how many values fall into each interval. A rectangle is drawn with height proportional to the count and width equal to the bin size, so that rectangles abut each other.
A histogram may also be normalized displaying relative frequencies. It then shows the proportion of cases that fall into each of several categories, with the sum of the heights equaling 1.
The bins are usually specified as consecutive, non-overlapping intervals of a variable. The bins (intervals) must be adjacent, and usually equal size. The rectangles of a histogram are drawn so that they touch each other to indicate that the original variable is continuous. Above 6

What is Etymology? The etymology of the word histogram is uncertain. Sometimes it is said to be derived from the Greek histos anything set upright' (as the masts of a ship, the bar of a loom, or the vertical bars of a histogram); and gramma 'drawing, record, writing'. It is also said that Karl Pearson, who introduced the term in 1891, derived the name from "historical diagram".
Examples For Histograms,
This is a toy example.
The language used to describe the patterns in a histogram are symmetric Unimodal, skewed left or right, bimodal or multimodal.

The mean is the numerical
average of the data set.
The mean is found by adding
all the values in the set, then
dividing
the sum by the
number of values.
The MEDIAN is the number that is in
the middle of a set of data
Arrange the numbers in the
set in order from least to
greatest.
Then find the number that is
in the middle.
978473 88 10063 9795
88 + 95 = 183
183 ÷ 2 The median is91.5
The MODE is the piece of data that occurs most frequently in
the data set.
A set of data can have:
One mode
More than one mode
No mode
978473 88 10063 979586
The value 97 appears twice.
All other numbers appear just once.
97 is the MODE
