WHY WE EXIST

• Needed to map individual plant species over large areas in Hawaii

• Could not use existing satellite data

• Clouds

• Topography

• Automated image analysis was not effective (spectral separation)

• Resolution (spectral and horizontal ground)

• Attempted contracting aerial imagery providers from off island

• Costly

• Not resolute enough

• Had to develop our own unique platform

• Most of our efforts have been focused on weed detection, mapping, and monitoring.

• Over large landscapes (ex: 1000 to 20,000 acres)

• Mapping and tracking individual plants over time

• Develop species specific analysis models

• Some forest characterization through plot based analysis

• Monitoring invasive algae removal

• Maunalua Bay restoration
