History: the beginnings

1955 Start-up of Hager Electro, elektrotechnische Fabrik in Saarbrücken-Ensheim, Germany.

1959 Start-up of Hager Electro in Obernai, France, setting the course for a European marketing strategy.

Supplementing the range and expansion

80’s In the 1980s, Hager Group began systematically to extend its offer. Sales companies were set up in the most important markets area in Europe.

1992 We acquired Lumetal, Italy, a specialist in the field of distribution boards made of metal and polyester.

90’s Since the mid-1990s, we have created our own sales platforms in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).

1996 We took over Tehalit, a German company specialising in cable management systems and dado trunking.

1998 Integration of Flash, Saverne, France, an electronic components maker.

Acquisition of Ashley & Rock, Ulverston, England, thus extending our range to British Standard.

Global expansion

2002 Integration of Polo, Poland, a switch manufacturer.

2004 Acquisition of Weber, Switzerland, a company which makes switching gear, and of Atral, France, a company which makes security equipment.

2005 Acquisition of Amacher, a Swiss switch manufacturer.

2006 Acquisition of shares in Eletromar, market launch in Brazil and takeover of Efen, Germany, which makes security equipment.

2007 Hager Group becomes a European Society (SE = Societas Europaea).

Production starts in the Hager Group’s new factory in Pune, India.

2010 Acquisition of Berker, a German switch manufacturer.

2012 Acquisition of Elcom, Germany, specialist for modern communication systems and creative entryway design, and of Locate Solutions, AAL specialist.

2013 Acquisition of three companies (Teles SA, Prodis, A.V.I. Securité) and one of the business branches of the company Artys.

2014 Cooperation with ABN Braun AG in the field of “outdoor electricity”. Hager Group takes over the development and production in this area at the Nuremberg site.

2015 Acquisition of Bocchiotti Group, an Italian family-owned company with over 50 years of experience in the field of cable management and small distribution boards.
