How to use Green Screen

Step 1: Filming Footage

• First of all something or someone must be filmed in front of a green screen

• Green screen must have as little shadows as possible to avoid different shades of green

Step 2: Upload footage

• Upload the footage onto a PC• Import the footage into Adobe After Effects

Step 3: Modifying Color Key

• On the right hand tool bar select keying• Under keying select color key and drag it onto

the footage

Step 4: Getting rid of the Green

• Once the color key has been selected, on the left hand side select the key color

• Click on any green part of the footage and increase the color tolerance

Step 4 continued

• Keep clicking on green parts of the footage until all the green has gone

Step 5: Adding Background

• Import a video or image into after effects• Drag and drop the image into the sequence

• Manipulate video/image to fit the screen

• Lastly use the color correction tool to change the colour balance of the new footage and make the original footage and the background match
