  1. 1. GOD PARTICLE Presented by:- Vikram Raja
  2. 2. God Particle its also known as Higgs boson
  3. 3. Contents Introduction Peter Higgs Higgs boson CERN LHC Experiment God particle experiment Result of experiment
  4. 4. Introduction The God particle is described as the small entity or a energy that brings everything to existence. Higgs boson was a theory established in 1964. It is an elementary particle known as higgs boson or higgs particle having zero charge & mass greater than zero.
  5. 5. Peter Higgs The Higgs Boson is named for Peter Higgs who, along with two other teams, proposed the mechanism that suggested such a particle in 1964 and was only one to identify some of its theoretical properties.
  6. 6. HIGGS (BOSON) FIELD The higgs field is believed to be that its a energy that holds the particles to creates an atom. This field can be created by collision of protons with light speed. This field exists only for 1trillionth of a second
  7. 7. CERN The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN is a European research organization. Established in 1954, the organization is based in the northwest suburbs of Geneva on the Franc Swiss border and has 21 European member states.
  8. 8. The Large Hadron Collider(LHC) The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the worlds largest and most powerful particle accelerator. The LHC was built in collaboration with over 10,000 scientists and engineers from over 100 countries.
  9. 9. Front panel of LHC
  10. 10. Back panel of LHC. The cylindrical tubes shown in the image are Super conducting magnets.
  11. 11. The LHC consists of a 27-kilometre ring of superconducting magnets with a number of accelerating structures to boost the energy of the particles along the way. Inside the accelerator, two high-energy particle beams travel at close to the speed of light before they are made to collide. The beams travel in opposite directions in separate beam pipes two tubes kept at ultrahigh vacuum.
  12. 12. Higgs boson Experiment When two high-energy particle protons are travelling through a circular loop of distance 27km with a speed of light . These protons rotates around the circuit in clockwise direction and some in anticlockwise direction are made to collide inside the machine . This whole process is observed by the a detector namely ATLAS(detector). By collision the protons are smashed in to tiny particles . This tiny particles are named as QUARKS & LEPTONS.
  13. 13. Conclusion After twenty years they got success The theoretical experiment was proved on 2012 july. Achieved with the use of Hadron collider
