Getting started with Skype

Downloading Skype Step 1 .Type www.skype.com in the URL bar .

Step 2.Click on the join now icon on the top right hand corner of the display page. Shown in picture below.

Step 3.Follow the 4 step process as seen below.

Step 4.Fill in the necessary user account details then read and accept the conditions.

How to use Skype

Congratulation you are now a Skype member.Lets learn how to use the basics of Skype.

• You now have an icon on your desk top which will open Skype with a double click. Shown below.

• Click this icon and you will be welcomed with the Skype's sign in page. Fill in your user name and password then click sign in.

You will then be welcomed to the main Skype. This is where all the fun and communication begins.

Its here where you can do such things as add contacts, make video calls, standard voice calls and instant messages. You can also revert back to this page for any extra help and assistants.

Adding a contactStep 1 .Click on add contact on the bottom left hand side of your main Skype page. The below screen will appear.

Step 2. Fill in your Skype friends details. Then click add, the screen will search for your friend. If your friend is found successful then a match found screen will appear.

Click Add Contact

Your added friends will appear in the right hand column of your screen along with any news and Skype testing requirements.

You are now ready to organise a Skype call with your friends. Organise a time where both of you will be able to talk through Skype.Once organised click the friend/s that you would like to call then press call .

Away you go. You will be able to communicate in real time with your friends.

Remember if you get lost or confused refer back to your main screen for help and assistants.
