There are ten types of the world flatteners and they are:

The Collapse of the Berlin Wall, Netscape, Workflow software, Open source, Outsourcing, Off shoring, Supply-Chaining, Insourcing, In-forming, and The Steroids.

What is The Collapse of the Berlin Wall?

This happened at the end of the Cold War when it allowed people from the other side of the wall to come and join the economic mainstream.

It has also created freedom for the people.

It was the end of communism. It was when the Microsoft Windows

became popular.

What is Netscape?

This was when the dot com was created and was when the internet became more popular and everyone was able to connect with the world.

Dot Com was very cheap and that’s why it was very popular and many countries were able to use it.

What is Workflow Software?

This is the communication between different types of departments .

It was the ability of machines to talk to other machines with no human involve.

Examples: Soap, XML, and they are all web services.

What is Open Sourcing?

It is when the uploading and online projects started.

There are many open sources that everyone around the world was connected to and these sources became very popular.

Examples: Open source software, Wikipedia and Blogs.

What is Out Sourcing?

Outsourcing is when someone works for a specific company from a different country or a different place.

Outsourcing was used by Dot com and it enabled different countries to use the data line for free such as China and India.

This could benefit countries like India because people use its millions of engineering brain power in accounting, medical data analysis, and customer support.

What is Off shoring?

This is when a company takes a factory and moves this factory offshore to a different place.

This is when people move their business to other place because it’s cheaper.

China is a great example because many different companies sell and buy different things from China.

China has one of the best World’s Flatteners.

What is Supply Chain Management

Supply chain management is when companies uses technology to stream item to sale something.

Many companies also use supply chain management is because of distribution and sailing.

What is In sourcing ?

In Sourcing is when companies employee’s perform service for another company.

In sourcing is another way of collaboration for companies.

This helps the small companies to make business globally even if they don’t have a shop or a company.

What is In Forming?

This is an example of many web sites engines. The best example Is Google.

Google is a very good example because it is facing roughly one billion searches in a day and many people depend on it.

There is a quote that was taken from the book that describes Google and it is, If I can operate Google, I can find anything. Google is like God, God is wireless, God is everywhere, and god sees everything. Any questions in the world, ask Google" (p.185).

What are the Steroids?

The Steroids are personal devices that people use such as laptops, IPods, mobiles, and texting.

Any analog can be digitalized, shaped and then transmitted. This can be done very fast and can be done by anyone because of how easy it is and mobiles are easy examples of it and it can also be done in any place.
