Mission Statement•Green Leaf Lodging project is a student run service committee
helping to promote sustainability throughout the hotel and lodging industry within the Greater New
Bedford area.
Goals• Implement a sustainable recycling program• Include the community with donations to help less fortunate• Help others contribute to recycling/raise recycling awareness • Establish a connection between the Best Western to local community service partners to promote “re-use”• Educate staff members in proper recycle techniques
•Hosted an eco-friendly presentation to promote recycle awareness at Best Western hotel.•Educated staff on different green initiatives and how they can contribute to their local community.

Take-Aways (Flyers and Bags)
•Provided flyers with green incentive information
•Provided bags to encourage proper recycling
Community Impact
• Green Initiative flyers in 65 rooms at The Best Western• Roughly 40Lbs of clothes (four bags)• A tote full of small electronics• Recycling bags on all staff carts
Sustainability• Established an on-going partnership between The Best Western hotel in Dartmouth and the Lighthouse Outreach Center in Fall River•Gave take-aways to hotel staff to help implement and enforce re-use program • Expanded marketing appeal by being considered a “Green Hotel”
