Do we calculate each time?

• If premed of Butorphanol of 0.02 mg/kg and use a 10 mg/kg strength dose, how much for a 10 lb dog?

• And we add 5 mcg – 10 mcg/kg of Dexdomitor• 10 lbs/2.2(lbs/kg) = kg x 0.02 mg/kg = 0.091mg.• 0.091 mg/10 (mg/ml) = 0.009 ml volume• And now if we add the Dexdomitor…• 10 lbs/2.2(lbs/kg) = kg x 0.005 mg/kg = 0.023mg.• 0.023 mg/0.5 (mg/ml) = 0.045 ml volume• Up to: • 10 lbs/2.2(lbs/kg) = kg x 0.010 mg/kg = 0.045mg.• 0.045 mg/0.5 (mg/ml) = 0.091 ml volume
