Preliminary analysis

• This is evaluation question 7 and looking back at my preliminary task. First of all there was not enough knowledge used within this however, there was a use of an eye line match and a graphic match. Nevertheless, the problem that we had when doing our preliminary task as of the lighting. There is also a use of match on action when you see me going around the corner. As well as, we wasn’t able to fit in all of the techniques that we knew within our preliminary task because of lack of resources. Nonetheless, we used simple cinematography like over the shoulder shots to show conversation between the two characters and we also used shot- reverse- shot to show the argument between the two characters.

Media product analysis

• Throughout our final product there was a few problems as there was a change in scenery due to the fact that this was filmed on different days and the weather had changed. As well as, the cars where different in each scene due to the fact that we filmed on different days. However, the techniques that we used were jump cuts to show the confusion of the character that is standing up. Furthermore, we used cinematography within the final product like a low angle shot on the body laying on the floor to show the audience that there is someone who is on the floor and they look dead. There was very little match on action used as there was mainly POV shots and pan shots to show the focus of the character who is confused. Also, we have developed our editing skills throughout both our preliminary task and our final product as during our preliminary task we didn’t have the understanding of knowing how to edit it to make it a useful thriller opening. On the other hand we had developed our editing skills and put them into good use by making our final product a useful thriller opening. Finally, we used background music for our final product to make the scene more active and to aware the audience of the danger as the music was the type of music that you would hear in a horror.
