Because we used the E4 age range we decided to use E4 to broadcast our trailer. We found the E4 style guide and made the right title cards for our trailer. We also used the style guide to do our ancillaries. Here are some of the requirements of the style guide.

We wanted our poster to reflect the channel so we had a look at existing posters for E4 programmes. I analysed them and looked at the features so we could use some of them in our poster.

Title of programme at the top of the page.

Day and time of the programme.

Channel it is broadcast on.

All main characters in shot. Arms round each other to show a connection between them. Eye contact with the audience to establish a connection with the audience

Picture of the sea and a sunset in the

background and the fact the female

characters have bare legs suggests that the

programme is set somewhere hot near

the beach.

Characters holding hairspray and lip gloss suggest that the programme is going to be quite glamorous. The characters all look like they are looking at themselves in the mirror getting ready to go out to a party.

Sparkly E4 tape and logo. This also suggest the programme is quite glamorous.

The background looks like the tiles in a bathroom. This makes the audience assume these people are getting ready to go out and they like to spend time of their appearance. Maybe quite vain and possibly rich.

I used youtube to look at existing soap opera trailers. This helped to think of ideas for storylines and to see the conventions used in the trailers. Using youtube I could upload my finished trailer and also put it into my blog.

Communication I used a blog to communicate with my teacher. On the blog I could post all the work I had done and my teacher could see it all.My teacher can leave comments on my work and I can edit it.

Page 13: Evaluation Q4

I also used YouTube to post the rough cut and final versions of my trailer. This let me upload the video and post it in my blog to get feedback. People can leave comment on the video on YouTube so I can edit my video.

Twitter

I used twitter to communicate with my teacher. I could ask her questions about the work out of lesson because we both have twitter on our phones. This made it easier to get feedback from her.

Slideshare

I used slideshare to upload my PowerPoint's to my blog. I could upload them onto slideshare and then embed the link into my blog so all my work was together. It didn't take long to do and kept my work neat and organised.
