What have I learnt

Page 2: Evaluation of hollyoaks trailer

I gained a lot of experience of different technologies when I created my remake of a Hollyoaks trailer •I gained experience of using a sony HD camera to film the sequences on. •I was able to create a project that I could edit with iMovie, by importing footage on to the programme.•Once I had finished editing I then uploaded my project onto my YouTube account so that other people could see it and give me feedback on it.•I then embedded my video on to my blogger account

Creativity; how creative were you in the use of the footage?

•I used several techniques to edit the clips, for instance I was able to split clips and delete my unwanted footage to make the trailer short and snappy so that it would attract a wide audience. •Once I had merged my chosen clips together I then adjusted the volume levels of the characters so that I could add sound clips and music, for instance I added the a sound effect of rain. Along with that I could extract the audio from selected parts of the videos clip.

Soap opera conventions; how did you make use of them?

In my trailer I used classic soap opera conventions to create a sense of enigma and suspicion to the audience. The short fast pace clips edited together have the same conventions as a soap opera trailer.

I put together a range of camera shots; close ups, two shots and extreme close ups, this was also to help me show emotion.
