Elgin Water Solutions Fish Screens use TIG Welded Wedgewire to provide the best
relationship of cost and performance. The screens are precisely manufactured to
exceed all typical tolerances.
Additional Intake ComponentsGates - Complicated projects require great coordination, and often the technical coordination between the screening, civil work, and gates is a critical intersection for water supply projects. To address this, Elgin Water offers a variety of gates for water control at municipal, and hydroelectric intake structures.
Bar Screens – Bar screens must be durable and precise. The screens are designed and built to exacting standards. Bar screens are built of steel, stainless steel, and polyurethane and can be pained to prevent corrosion or treated with Jacquelyn™ Corrosion and Zebra Mussel resistant coating.
Rotary Drum Screens – Rotary drum screens use fine mesh wedgewire to filter debris and spray bars to clean debris. The screen can be provided in a variety of orientations to support water intake and fish diversion applications.
Add-Ons to the Intake System
AirBurst™ Systems – deliver a powerful burst of air to the screen to eliminate debris. The systems can include sensing equipment to monitor clogging, an IceBreak™ to prevent frazil ice formation and the DebrisJet.
DebrisJet™ - Silt and debris often threaten intake structures. The Debrisjet™ uses targeted, powerful jets of air to remove debris from the intake area. The targeted air jets mobilize and sweep away debris without any in-water moving parts. This allows the systems to be low maintenance and delivers a low cost of ownership.
IceBreak™ Systems – IceBreak™ Systems are integrated monitoring and control systems that deliver timed jets of compressed air to prevent ice formation on an intake structure.
