• Phase 1 – under implementation in 1 lakh GPs and targeted to be completed by March 2017
• Phase 2 – balance GPs through Optimal mix of underground OFC, aerial OFC, radio media using existing and new towers, along with satellite media, to be completed by Dec 2018
• Phase 3 – a state of the art network for 5G services and Internet of Things era with underground OFC in ring architecture, to be completed by 2023.

workforce : The Telecom Sector Skill
Council (TSSC), has empanelled 157 training
partners across the
country and enrolled 2.12 lakh persons
for training so far.
• Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications are automated applications which involve machines or devices communicating through a network without human intervention.
• M2M is the basis for automated information interchange between machines and a control center for various industry verticals like Smart City, Smart Grid, Smart Water, Smart Transportation, Smart Health etc.
• M2M uses a device (such as a sensor or meter) to capture an event, which is relayed through a network (wireless, wired or hybrid) to an application, that translates the captured event into meaningful information.
• M2M can bring substantial and tangible social and economic benefits to consumers, businesses, citizens and governments.
