Submitting

Essays

Page 2: Electronic submissions

You’ll be submitting your

essays electronically.

While many assignments will need to be printed

and brought to class, the final drafts of all

essays will be submitted electronically.

When you have finished drafting and formatting

your essay and saved it as a PDF, you’re

ready to “hand it in.”

Page 3: Electronic submissions

You’ll be uploading the

paper to my Dropbox.

Go to http://www.dropitto.me/LRichards

The site will ask for an upload password, which

is lagcc

(The link will be on the class blog.)

Page 4: Electronic submissions

The site walks you

through the submission.

Your uploaded file will immediately transfer to

my Dropbox, which is essentially an

electronic hard drive.

You might consider signing up for a Dropbox of

your own: it’s free, and you’ll never have to

worry about a crashed hard drive or

corrupted USB stick!

You will get a confirmation that the upload was

successful. If you do not get the

confirmation, you should immediately

resubmit.

Submissions are uploaded with a time- and

date-stamp, and assignments not uploaded

before the deadline will be penalized.

I will mark your essay

electronically.

I will then email the PDF with my comments

back to you.

(Obviously, this will not happen immediately.)

You should be able to view the file on any

device that has the Adobe Reader.

If your device does not have Adobe, it is

available as a free download for everything

from desktop computers to smart phones. It

is also on all of the computers in campus

labs.
