Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVS),

also known as drones, are aircraft

either controlled by ‘pilots’ from the

ground or increasingly, autonomously

following a pre-programmed mission.

What are drones?

• The earliest recorded use of an unmanned aerial

vehicle for war fighting occurred on August 22, 1849,

when the Austrians attacked the Italian city of Venice

 with unmanned balloons loaded with

explosives.

History

• They basically fall into two

categories:

• Those that are used for examination

• Those that are used for attack

Future of drones in world?

Florida is studying  a plan to fight mosquitoes by using drones to seek out their watery breeding
