Introduction

● Social media was invented back in 90's

● Internet was getting popular

● People didn't think of anything that would be a personal barrier

● People with Disability found it difficult to access any website

● Then, filed a couple of complaints to grab Social Network Administrators' attentions

It took them awhile to recognized a few years later and Admins finally took action on that.

There are still a lot of things to do.

Advantages of Social Media

People with disability, usually experience physical and communicating barriers, will find Social Networks easier to chat with anyone in the world. So, they wouldn't feel alienated from the world. Disadvantages of Social Media

● Social media can be unsafe in terms of claiming disabilities and may cause insurance problems

● Not all networks, especially , have the special feature that is built for Blind people

● doesn't have closed captions for people with hearing loss

● has fewer films in closed captions and in video description

How Would Social Media Affect Disabled People in 10 Years?

It could be in a positive way because advanced technologies are developing today and it will get better in ten years.

Think about it.....

If it was 1950's or 1980's, we wouldn't be able to reach this slides. This type of technology weren't existed back then; It is a good sign. It shows that, in the future, we have a good chance to make something accessible for everyone.
