Partnerships

dinCloud Partners with CDW

On May 12th, dinCloud announced a partnership with CDW. The agreement allows CDW to offer and sell dinCloud’s award winning Hosted Virtual Desktops (HVDs) and related cloud services, including its high performance servers and cloud-based storage.

“Cloud solutions continue to gain popularity as businesses look to conserve resources by offloading data center management, while gaining the IT flexibility to meet their evolving business needs,” said Stephen Braat, vice president, cloud and managed solutions, CDW. “CDW’s hosted virtual desktop offering, powered by dinCloud, puts the direct benefits of cloud computing in our customers’

hands.”

Announcements

dinCloud Introduces Specialized Healthcare Cloud Services

On April 15th, dinCloud announced cloud services specifically developed and packaged for the healthcare industry. The solutions were designed to meet the growing needs of healthcare providers looking for a secure hosted solution with

business continuity/disaster recovery capabilities.

“The industry requirements that healthcare organizations deal with are difficult enough, let alone having to manage the complexities of the noisy cloud market space. Having an affordable, scalable solution like dinCloud, that is easy to provision and provides accessibility from anywhere, is a huge advantage,” said Evan Desjardins, president of RoundTable Technology.

“We wanted a solution that afforded us the flexibility to tailor our infrastructure needs to business demands and pressures,” said Dwight Payne, software director, Occupational Medical Consulting, LLC. “In addition to dinCloud’s pricing and full featured solution, they were

incredibly responsive to our needs and even configured a new server database using Microsoft SQL Server 2014 so we could be on the latest and greatest – the new server is far more feature rich than our last configuration.”

“We looked at several providers, but went with dinCloud because they had the best understanding of our HIPAA and BAA requirements. We were also able to alter our server specifications on the fly,” said Stephen Arndt, consulting CIO at Medicalodges.

dinCloud Launches Worldwide Anycast DNS ServicesOn April 28th, dinCloud announced dinDNS, an affordable and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service. With dinDNS, dinCloud

combats DDoS attacks through its Anycast network design, which is spread across 20+ data centers worldwide. That, combined with ThreatSTOP’s IP Reputation (IPR) response system, disables botnet networks at dinCloud’s Internet edge routing platforms.

“Over the years, dinCloud has consistently provided its customer base with a robust set of security capabilities. Through the new dinDNS service, dinCloud aims to differentiate itself from the competition with another important and affordable way to ensure that a customer's

cloud environment is highly secure,” said Karin Kelley, consulting analyst, Structure Research.

dinCloud Hosted Virtual Servers Transform Business Operations for Sierra Group

Sierra Group is a California-based construction firm, focusing on commercial construction, facilities maintenance, electronic security surveillance, and business alarms.

Today, the company runs several hosted virtual desktops, as well as a number of hosted virtual servers, to maintain its operations. Monica Valenzuela, director of operations, says she enjoys “the latest and greatest” technology updates from dinCloud, and credits its cloud services for dramatically improving Sierra Group’s

business operations.

Perhaps most importantly for Valenzuela, Sierra Group gained an always-on support team to help manage their virtual infrastructure. “They’re amazing,” said Valenzuela. “Whenever I call with an issue, it’s handled with a sense of urgency. The support team works with

me until it is resolved.”

The impact of its newly virtualized infrastructure was made apparent during the on-boarding process. Valenzuela was able to haveemployees up and running in a matter of minutes, rounding out a process that once took hours.

dinCloud CMO Discusses Successful M&A Integration via the Cloud

“The success of an M&A scenario is often determined on a fixed timeline, and when operating on unfamiliar systems, IT admins can benefit from the third party expertise offered by a cloud services provider. Cloud providers facilitate rapid migration to a cloud infrastructure, which is especially key

when both time and streamlined operations are of prime importance. Organizations can work with a partner to maximize the benefits of the cloud and alleviate the pressure on IT staff in a demanding

business transition.”

David Spark’s article about 20 IT cycles that must end for successful business transformation included commentary from

dinCloud CTO Mike Chase.

“We live in a services world where everything from getting a ride, to storing and protecting your data is just cheaper, faster, and better by not doing it yourself,” said Chase. “Too often the focus of far too many businesses remains on their IT department and internal technology vs. how to create and sell the innovations for which the company was founded.

Technology is merely a bridge to get to revenue you couldn’t otherwise reach or a value add to the existing business model.”

William Jackson’s article talks about Windows Server 2003 and includes commentary from dinCloud CMO Ali Din.

“People are really underestimating the impact of this,” said Din. “Operations that are running the old OS probably are running it on outdated hardware, which will have to be replaced along with the software. And then there are the legacy apps that it supports.”

Din suggests that the cloud is the most viable migration path for many. Virtual servers in the cloud can provide greater flexibility and scalability without the up-front capital costs of new hardware and software. A reliable cloud service provider probably can offer

security that is at least as good as many enterprises can provide for themselves, and can offer a high level of customer control over their assets.

dinCloud CMO Talks about Cloud in Retail

“As the cloud market moves toward the $15 billion mark set by Accenture for this year, it’s clear that cloud is a key driver in retail transformation and, in combination with online sales growth, is putting power back in the hands of the consumer with “experience” at the

forefront of every retail interaction.”

Alison Diana’s article talks about healthcare cloud adoption and includes commentary from dinCloud executives

“In traditional IT, there are a lot of moving parts in getting from compute to configuration. Then on top of that, the hospital or entity is still forced to go out and buy a bunch of servers for apps like malware and antivirus and patchwork. The regulations – like HIPAA – are driving

that. And now [these regulations] they have teeth,” said David Graffia, VP of Sales at dinCloud. “They’re looking to conserve capital. They’ve deferred their refresh rates on their endpoints, which makes it even harder to keep up with regulations, and they’ve thinned their IT ranks.”

“They used to come in for cost,” dinCloud chief technology officer Mike Chase told Enterprise Technology. But now healthcare CIOs want more: They see cloud as the solution to challenges around security, disaster recovery and business continuity, and compliance, he said. The

cloud service provider’s specialized offering for healthcare includes virtual desktops and cloud storage, and provides Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), said Chase. Remote backup at multiple locations and scalability ensure healthcare organizations remain operational and

safe, he said.

Esther Shein’s article about how to enter the hosted virtual desktop service market includes commentary from dinCloud

executivesIn addition to the capital expense of building from scratch, many companies don't end up with "the latest and greatest infrastructure to host

that [DaaS] environment on, and it was probably built by someone doing it for very first time," said David Graffia, VP of Sales at dinCloud. "You spend millions of dollars and the result is a big question mark and users aren't happy."

Users also want redundant data centers, noted Ali Din, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at dinCloud. The company resells a cloud automation console for DaaS that an MSP can decide to give to customers to log in to and manage and provision services or the MSP can

assume that control.

"Folks who come in and provide leads, provision the environment and provide ancillary services can make more because we don't have to outsource that and it's nice complement to what they do."
