Page 8: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Mount MotherboardPlace the motherboard in the chassis being careful to make sure the I/O shield pins clear the sockets on the motherboard. Secure with 4 screws.

Page 9: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Open the CPU Socket

Press down on the CPU socket locking lever and swing the socket frame open. Remove processor cover.

Page 10: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Insert CPU

Carefully align the CPU in the socket using the cutout guides on the processor. Close and secure the locking mechanism.

Page 11: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Install the Wireless Card

Locate the ½ length mini PCIe slot at #7. CAREFULLY (they can be stripped) remove the two mini Phillips screws and place the card edge in the slot. Secure with the mini screws.

Page 12: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Install the mSATA SSD

Locate the full length mini PCIe slot at #15. Make sure the posts fit tightly. CAREFULLY (do not strip) remove the mini Phillips head screws. Insert the mSATA SSD and screw down.

Page 13: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Install the Speaker & Audio Header

Plug in the 1x4 speaker header in the keyed socket at #10. Plug in the front audio header to the yellow set of pins next to the PCIe slot at #12.

Plug in the SODIMM Memory

Lay the SODIMM at #2 into the lower memory socket and make sure you lock in place.

Page 18: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Plug in the Dual FP USB

Plug in the keyed front panel USB connector to the USB socket marked #11 to the right.

Page 19: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Plug in the Camera and Panel

• Locate the two 1x5 cables (one is grey the other is black

• These cables will attach to the dual lane USB on the board edge next to the processor socket.

• The dual lane USB pins have 5 pins across one side and four on the other.

• You will need to “punch out” only one of the blocks on the cable so it can go across the pins (top row has 5 bottom has 4 in each case the “fifth” pin is dead.

• Attach both 1X5 cables across the 2x5 USB connector.

Remove the HDD Tray

Remove the two screws on the side of the HDD tray and slide to the left to remove

Page 25: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Mount HDD in Tray

Use the silver flat headed Phillips screws with the long posts through the rubber grommets on the HDD carrier to mount the HDD. Make sure it is in upside down with the connectors opposite the edge of the chassis. Replace carrier in chassis

Page 26: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Mount the “L” Bracket on ODD

Screw the “L” bracket to the back of the ODD with the tiny Phillips screw. Orient the bracket with “L” toward the bottom and the angled slot to the right.

Page 27: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Mount the ODD

Remove the cover plate for the ODD slot by pressing down on the notched center section and lifting the two tabs (the cover is removed by pushing back in the case. Slide the ODD through the slot and secure the “L” bracket at the back to the chassis with a single screw.

Page 28: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Special SATA Power cable

Adapter cable for slim ODD

Page 29: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Locate the SATA Power Cable

Look for the cable that has an “L” connection at one end and a pair of SATA power connections and one large 1x4 Molex power connector

Page 30: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Plug In the SATA Power Cable

Plug the “L” SATA connector into the board at #17. Then plug one SATA power connector into the HDD.

Page 31: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

ODD SATA Power & Data Cable

Locate the ODD SATA power & data cable and plug the combo end to the ODD. Connect the 1x4 receptacle to the corresponding socket on the HDD power cable. Plug the SATA data cable to the front socket at #17

Page 32: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

HDD SATA Data Cable

Plug the HDD SATA cable into the back of the HDD. Plug the “L” connector at the other end into the second socket at #17

Page 33: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Place the Processor Heat Pipe

Place the heat pipe on the processor socket as shown. Make sure the cooling fins fit into the space provided. Tighten the four spring loaded screws until the heat pipe is firmly seated. Align the fan with the cooling fins and screw down at 3 points.

Page 34: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Attach the Heat Pipe Fan Header

Plug in the heat pipe fan to #3

Page 35: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Do Not Plug In the LVDS Header

• You will need to use the Integrator Tool Kit (ITK) to set the BIOS to use the flat panel display connected through the LVDS header.

• The next step is very important. You must correctly set the power for the flat panel LVDS display

Page 36: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Set the Power Jumpers for LVDS

Back in the area marked #14 there are two blocks at opposite ends with jumpers. The one to the left is a 1x3. Set this across the two right pins. The other is a 2X3 with two pins missing. Set this jumper across the back two furthest to the right. Each is marked with an

Page 37: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Connect the DVI Monitor

• Before you can use the built-in flat panel (LVDS) display, you will have to use the Intel Integrator Tool Kit (ITK) to enable the BIOS (the default is no LVDS device installed).

• Also plug in the USB keyboard and power supply• Plug in the DOS bootable USB thumb drive with the

DOS version of the ITK.

Page 38: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Hit F2 to Enter the BIOS

• Scroll over to the “Boot” tab• Scroll down to “Boot to Removable Devices” and

make sure it reads <Enable>• Scroll down to “Boot USB Devices First set to

<Enable>• Plug in the DOS bootable USB thumb drive with the

Modify the ag_g11.ini File part 5

• Save the file as ag_g11.ini to the bootable USB drive and exit Wordpad.

• Open the ag_g11.ini file and check that the changes were saved. If not, repeat the 4 steps. If done, exit the program remove the bootable USB drive and plug it back into the g11 system then boot the g11 to the USB drive.

Page 45: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Updating the BIOS with ITK

• At the C:\ prompt type the following command (case sensitive)

• Itoolkit INSTALL –config –tokens –ini=ag_g11.ini• The INSTALL command will write your modifications

to the BIOS• Hit the enter key and your screen should look

similar to this

Page 46: DH61AG & ECS G11 Assembly

Turn Off the System

• Unplug the power supply and the DVI monitor• Remove the bootable USB drive• Gently push the LVDS cable into its receptacle on

the board in area #14. Use the edges and avoid pushing on the wires.
