DevOps Market TimingFor Entertainment Purposes OnlyPlease, no wagering

Timing any technology market is dangerous, but here we go…
• We estimate DevOps will be a larger “thing” sometime between 2017-2022, 3-5 years from 2014.
• Having “started” between 2007-2009 but with a slower uptake than Agile which had a 10+ year cycle to maturity
• For “the elite,” DevOps is clearly “here”
• Various surveys show a slow, but steady rise in dedicated DevOps teams
• Enterprises are adopting the underlying cloud infrastructure needed, but not at a rapid pace
• Large and medium sized vendors are just now exploring and formalizing DevOps programs and products
• Agile software development too more than 10 years to mature as a market
