The exposure study trip to CRRI ,Cuttack having one of the centres of excellence in paddy through out India was guided by Mr.Laxmidhar Dash,DDM,NABARD,Balasor e along with Mr.Rajendra Kumar Rana,Coordinating member ARM and Mr.Sarat C h a n d r a Dash,Agronomist,Pilot Pro- ject NABARD.The DDM made extensive contact with the Scientists of CRRI, exchanged opinion and expertise with them as well as participated in joint address to the farmers on Aim & Objectives of the trip along with innova- tive rice based prac- tices available in the CRRI campus. Project Title:“AUGMENTING PRODUCTIVITY OF LEAD CROPS THROUGH ADOPTION OF SUSTAIN-

ABLE AGRICULTURE PRACTICES - BALIAPAL BLOCK OF BALASORE DISTRICT”

Area of Operation: 6 villages of 2 GPs in Baliapal Block

Name of the Project Villages: Bishnupur, Nayabali, Rasalpur, Ikarpal, Jamkunda & Kalrui

Lead Crops:Paddy,Groundnut & Green Gram

Budget Provision :Rs. 48,66,200 /-

Project Objectives:

To organize farmers community of six villages in two GPs of Baliapal Block.

To Introduce innovative crop cultivation Technologies for higher production & Productivity

To enhance farmers’ skills and capacities in sustainable agriculture

To introduce drudgery reducing farm machineries' & equipments in crop production

To promote coordination among the project stakeholders for increased efficiency

To develop a suitable marketing channel and profitable cultivation
