The Tour de France is a fast-paced and dynamic environment to work in. Dimension Data used next-generation communication, collaboration, and mobility technology to allow technical teams to work together seamlessly around the clock, across time zones, and from various locations along the route.
A mobile working environment, the Big Data truck:• housed the technical team on the ground
• contained a robust, mobile data centre
• connected to global cloud platform powered from London and Amsterdam
• delivered real-time analytics to TV broadcasters and a live-tracking website
• followed the race throughout all stages
• travelled 5,151 kilometres and spent 320 hours on the road
