1. FURTHER RESEARCH AND VALIDATE YOUR APPS FROM PART ONE

Remove from consideration any Apps with one or more of the following characteristics:

• Highly complex Apps.

• Apps with several screens and multiple graphics.

• Apps you do not feel very passionate about.

• Apps you are not familiar with the market.

• Apps that don’t have an existing market.

Keep it simple and start with an easy low cost App.

2. SELECT THE MOST VIABLE APP FROM YOUR SHORTLIST

Understand your constraints before selecting:

• What is your total budget?

• What processes will be outsourced versus handled internally?

• Is there a fixed deadline to have your App deployed to the App Store?

• Other constraints or dependencies?

Your first App will come with a learning curve so don’t overreach.

3. VERIFY YOUR SELECTED APP HAS THE GREATEST OPPORTUNITY FOR SUCCESS

Work within your skills, expertise, and interests. For each of your finalist Apps return to the App Store and review similar Apps:

• Are they trending up or down in ranking?

• Are your ideas differentiated enough?

• Are you improving on something?

• Are you still excited about the idea?

Now for the moment of truth, use your research and gut instinct and select your App.
