Community Connection

What community connection means to us….

continue to provide awareness, support & training and use of online meeting software to help engage community members, groups and organizations to utilize Online Meetings to help support the work our community organizations do.

Examples….• Supplement face-to-face meetings, especially during the winter

months for groups• Teaching Tool—the software provides an interactive forum to use

for teaching individuals or groups• On demand meetings-it’s a great way to connect a few members or

a group, quickly, to discuss matters, show a presentation or to inform

• Committee Work—helps committees to meet regularly, lessen travel and tends to make meetings more timely and efficient

• Virtual Meeting Attendance—allows individuals to view and/or participate in a meeting when, physically, you can’t attend

• Economical - no conference call charges, free use, saves on travel costs.

• Work from home! – allows individuals to avoid commutes, take a job in another region, work as a team player, access the team, group/company, etc.

Part IYELP – Youth Education Learning Program

Since today’s youth have grown up with computers and other technology, they are often the first ones in society to adopt a new technology and have been the strength behind the growth of popular communication methods, such as email, Facebook, and texting.

YELP is targeting local youth who are looking for opportunities to build work and life-related skills and gain volunteer experience. The youth will be trained on how to teach computer skills to community members seeking to upgrade their skills. They will learn a variety of basic computer skills, and other skills depending on participant’s needs and youth’s abilities and be provided with instruction and guidance on how to teach others, focusing on patience, respect, appropriate language (or avoiding confusing computer jargon), active listening, and body language.
